Update. Due to the Coronavirus all service are canceled through Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020.  We hope to keep all who worship with us safe from this virus.  As we receive information we will update our status.

March 2020 – The Altar Guild will be taking orders for Easter Lilies and/or Tulips. Plants are $10 each. Please fill out both sides of an order form and return it to the church office or place it in the offering plate by March 22nd with your check made payable to Grace Lutheran Altar Guild. Plants can be picked up after the Easter morning worship service.  Thank you for helping to beautify our church this Easter!

Sunday, March 8, 2020Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 a.m. Please remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night.

Also on March 8th there will be a Council Meeting immediately following the worship service.

Wednesday, March 11, 2020 – we will be feeding the hungry. If you are able please come around 9:30 in the morning to help prepare the food and/or come at 6:15 p.m. to help deliver and feed the hungry.

Thursday, March 20, 2020 – First Day of Spring!

Sunday, March 22, 2020 – There will be an Altar Guild Meeting in the meeting room downstairs immediately following the worship service.

MUSIC IN MARCH

March 15 – Cellist Steve Kramer 

March 22 – March 21 is the great Lutheran composer Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthday.  Born in 1685, he will be 335 years old.  To celebrate, come early, for the prelude will begin at 9:50 am with Bach’s monumental “Toccata and Fugue in D minor.”

CONCERTS AT GRACE

          Palm Sunday, April 5 at 3:00 pm soprano Megnot Toggia, flautist Serena Huang, cellist Steve Kramer, violinist Michael Shingo Crawford, and pianist John Ervin will perform in another Concerts at Grace program.

A great variety of music will be presented:

Bravura variations based on Mozart’s “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” theme

Three pieces from the movie Schindler’s List written for the great violinist Itzhak Perlman by John Williams

The very Romantic “Meditation” from Massenet’s Thais

Five short pieces by the great Russian composer Shostakovich

A flute sonata by Bach

More movie music – The Sound of Music

“Paprika Dreams,” a spicy piece by Michael Shingo Crawford

Please plan on attending, bring ten of your favorites friends, and join the artists downstairs for food and fellowship afterwards.
