Welcome! We are glad you are exploring Grace!

We believe everyone is a Beloved Child of God, and we strive to welcome you because of who you are, not in spite of it - because of your race, ethnicity, or citizenship status, because of your gender and who you love, because of your background and how you got here, because of all the things that make you who God created you to be!

Whether you are just starting out on your faith journey, have been steeped in skepticism, or know the church well, Grace welcomes all spiritual seekers. We are a community seeking to spread the notion that grace does indeed abound! We extend the grace shown to us in our discipleship, or the paying forward of the grace shown to us through the words, actions, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We would love to get to know you better. When you visit, Pastor Kayla may ask to meet up with you for a coffee, just to get to know you better. If you have any questions for us, before you visit, do not hesitate to reach out using the contact us page.

About Pastor Kayla

Pastor Kayla's journey of faith started in a small town outside of Pittsburgh and inspired a love of music, the language through which God spoke to her the most. This led her to study music at Capital University in Columbus, OH and venture on to study music therapy at Temple University. Through working with all kinds of populations, Pastor Kayla witnessed the movement of the Holy Spirit through the rhythms, harmonies, and melodies of music. However, during her work in hospice and palliative care, she experienced the presence of God in a way that no longer allowed her to ignore God’s call and led her to seminary.

During her time at United Lutheran Seminary (ULS), Pastor Kayla was blessed with ministry opportunities with The Welcome Church, a street church without walls in Center City focused on serving people experiencing homelessness and on the seminary chapel staff which afforded her many opportunities for creative worship planning, one of her passions. In September of 2020, Pastor Kayla was blessed to begin her time at Grace as an intern, which allowed the congregation and Pastor Kayla to grow together. The Rev. Kayla Sadowy began her official call to Grace on April 1, 2022.

Outside of church, Pastor Kayla loves cooking, gardening, and hiking with her partner, Beth, and their rambunctious senior dog, Ellie.
